Pilot Plans & Execution Scenarios of the AEGIS Automotive Demonstrator

The AEGIS platform will be evaluated through three PSPS pilots from the automotive, the smart home & ambient assisted living, and the insurance domain. The platform evaluation applies a mixed-method approach combining qualitative as well as quantitative instruments.
Obviously the three demonstrators play a major role in the AEGIS platform evaluation. Hence, for each of the three demonstrators, implementation plans as well as a set of execution scenarios have been developed.

Pilot Plans & Execution Scenarios of the AEGIS Automotive Demonstrator

The AEGIS Automotive Demonstrator explores how vehicle driving data and other road safety related data including e.g. weather data can be meshed and modelled, aggregated, and semantically annotated in order to extract meaningful, safety-relevant information. For this, various combinations of vehicle driving datasets and datasets from other domains will be investigated to determine which of them provides the most valuable insights into driving styles and driving behavior. Beneficiaries including drivers and other stakeholders will enhance their (business) value by using the AEGIS platform to create services for safer driving and safer roads. The automotive demonstrator is ‘located’ in Greater Graz area in Austria and will be implemented by VIF with support from KTH.
It is developed according to the three different scenarios, broken road indicator (provide insights into road conditions based on exploiting individual vehicle data), safe driving indicator (utilize vehicle sensor data along with environmental information and other content to infer the driver’s safety style and then calculate a safety index), and regional driving safety risk estimator (calculate a regional driving safety risk metric for certain regions).
The first scenario to implement, execute, and evaluate is the broken road indicator. The required functionalities for the early demonstrator version are provided in the table below.
